"Thus far has the LORD helped us.."

It was a humble beginning. A prayer group of 12 members turned to be a church in 1986 has around 200 members in its roll now. The Lord enables SFC, Bahrain to stretch out its hands of Christian fellowship, service and love to many who come to this island for employments and visits. Many have experienced the fellowship, Christian love and worshipped the Lord with us in the past and stand for Him in different parts of the world. Few have the privilege to labour at His Vineyard in different parts of India. It was the prayer of the Saints that helped us stand for the Lord in the past 18 years and we re-surrender ourselves to be instrumental in His hands for the expansion of His Kingdom.

VISIONED LEADERS
To turn a small prayer group into a church, the Lord used His humble servants who were willing to be instrumental in His hands. When they arrived in this inland in search of employment, each of them cherished their own ambitions and plans. None of them even imagined to be a servant of the Lord but the Lord's plans for them were not constrained only in secular jobs but making them instrumental in building His church.

When called for the ministry, all have their own excuses but the Lord's call was constant and specific. They had to surrender themselves to experience and see how ordinary men would be used in an extra ordinary way by an extra ordinary God.

Pastor Mathew Thomas who rests in eternity was instrumental in founding the church. When he went to U.A.E, in October 1986, the Lord anointed Pastor Mathews George (Mohan) to minister His church. In 1990 he returned to India and now serves the Lord as the pastor of Sharon Fellowship Churches in U.A.E.

Thereafter Pastor P.C. Chandy was anointed to minister the church and he had been pastoring the church for 11 years from March 1991 to December 2002. Pastor P.C. Chandy and Sr. Shalomi Chandy have played a vital role in the growth of the church and now stay in Philadelphia, United States serving the Lord in different capacities. Pr. P. C. Chandy also working as the co-ordinator of Jameson School of Ministries. They have been blessed with three children, Charles, Chris and Steve

New Church Hall - A Giant Step of Faith
Our hearts overwhelm with gratitude to the Lord for strengthening our feeble hands to build a church hall for the sake of His name. During the initial stages of the church, services were conducted at the residences of Pastors P.C. Chandy and P.C. Varghese.

As the Lord added new members to the church, facilities at their residences became insufficient to accommodate all the members and the church moved to a villa in Seqaya in June 1998.

Since the Lord has been gracious in adding new members to the church, the villa became inconvenient to conduct the services. As the Lord envisioned and guided, the church decided to build a church hall adjacent to the existing villa. Since the hand of the Lord was in favour, all necessary permissions from the landlord and concerned authorities were received in time.Construction works started in August 2003 were completed within 3 months and the newly built church hall was dedicated to the Glory of God on 15th December 2003 by Rev. (Dr.) T.G. Koshy, President of Sharon Fellowship Church.
